Welcome to
Catawba Mountain Farm
- home to some of the
best performance terriers on the East Coast.
We are located in the
beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia on
the Appalachian Trail. We have bred and
raised Jack Russell Terriers for over 20
years, and have been members of the JRTCA
since 1990. We have found this terrier to be one
of the most intelligent and versatile breeds
we have ever had the pleasure of raising.
In the last couple of months we have
embarked on a brand new adventure - alpaca
farming. We have always maintained a
small mini-farm, raising the traditional
chickens, goats, rabbits, etc. Just
recently we became interested in alpacas as
a potential investment.
Initially we bought Chervil
and MonkeyDo for no other reason except we
had always wanted some of these exotic
animals. Little did we know that we
would fall completely in love with the
gentle nature of these wonderful animals.
We have since acquired Hemi and Hawk.
In the next couple of months we will welcome
Enchanted Hill Laboria (Bori) to Catawba
Mountain. She will be our first
female, and hopefully she will be expecting
a cria in the spring of 2011. (A cria
is a baby alpaca). We have truly
embraced the alpaca lifestyle.
My husband, my oldest daughter (Lori), and
my youngest daughter & her husband, and I
are thinking of the long range picture for
Catawba Mountain Farm. Lori, of course
has lived with us for the last few months,
and my youngest daughter & her husband are
in the process of planning to build on our
property. We are working diligently to
create a family-owned alpaca farm. If
successful, what better legacy to leave your
children than a kennel full of Jack Russell
Terriers and a herd of endearing alpacas.
The Jack Russells will always hold a special
place in our hearts - not because of what we
accomplished - but what they have
accomplished.

Champion/Reserve Champions!
